quirky night

I was a bitch last night. I was cold, sick, selfish and a little paranoid (shit, i admitted it). Long distance relationship is a paranoia. Bad vibes.

But I did have fun with the girls yesterday. I had a healthy and hearty meal at Kozui's cutie nook with Charm and Bianca. Vernz also came by the apartment a little later. I had my make up on Charm and Bianca (I'll show you the pics as soon as Tere uploaded it - i love what I did to Bianx) Then Tere treated us dinner at a Korean Restaurant in Kalayaan. Eventhough it was raining cats and dogs, we headed to Cubao Expo for a round of drink. Sayang, the non-stopping rain ruined a supposedly quirky costume party that night. Chantel came by and we decided to to hop at Bookay Ukay for some enticing adventures - but target was out of sight. We were supposed to meet up wit Tinz for a Karaoke but I suddenly felt sick. And then I get bitchy because I didn't enjoyed the night. Poor me.

I'm gonna clean up my apartment, buy some ukay and go home at Antipolo :)

Too Good Not To Be True

HAhaay.. tiring day. pero masaya naman kahit na praning ako sa interrogation sa shang parking lot. My first ever lost parking ticket. At least we know how good and persistent their security is. Yun lang naman ang downside this day (at ang paubos kong pera) but the rest are fun fun fun.

I'm really happy that there are movies like 500 days of summer. Its not like any other chick flicks with the usual fairy tale treatment. They obviously did not end up with each other but it has a happy ending. Love the costumes, direction, casting! and the soundtrack! love the movie :)

I can relate to it (wink wink) . The only thing that is constant in our life is change and it isn't possible for anyone to take hold of the situation (or someone in this case) the way we prefer it to be. People come and go. Feelings can come and go as well - we just have to take it as a fact. It's naturally occurring like how seasons come and go. It's just we should try to look at relationships in different perspectives (not just two, but four if you can) and not as a piggy bank of our future picture of a perfect family in a perfect bungalow. As long as were happy - we'll stay happy. No pressure! NO deadlines and NO restrictions.

Enough of the cheesiness - photo shoot na bukas! Just bought a MAC Russian Red and NC40 Powder! yippee! Wala kasing MAC Lady Bug :'( I will need a gel or Kohl eyeliner pa and falsies. Anyhow, the shoot will go on.

I MISS YOU MONKEYbOY! get well...

aucoin/lopez project

tadah! now, im more excited!

Just bought a make-up book titled "Making Faces" by Kevyn Aucoin and I never expected that this will be a great great deal compared to the other books that I bought with it at Book Sale in Edsa Central Mall. Who could have thought of finding it there! (along with Phaidon's ARTODAY & FRESHCREAM) Treasure!

I love it! I love him. The book was published in 1999 by Little, Brown and Company. All of his models are his real clients like Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, Tori Amos, Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts, Vanessa William, Winona Ryder, her Mom, friends, colleagues and many more. His make up guides are easy to follow and his ideas run from basic to conceptual. Even more, he is totally inspiring. Unfortunately, he already left earth and fled as an angel towards heaven. :(

"There are no rules when it comes to make up" is Kevyn Aucoin's beauty mantra. He never entered a formal institution in make up/cosmetology yet he is the best-paid make up artist in history. Therefore, I believe I can do the same. Make up school here in Manila are soooo expensive and I can't really afford to enroll myself for next year's start of classes unless they'll offer me a scholarship. Which is only possible if I can do better than an average enthusiast in make up - which, I don't know yet.

My love for beauty started out in high school. I've dreamed of becoming a Dermatologist so I can pull of my mom's garden of black heads and stretch her sagging skin to make her even more beautiful. My friends would always want me to do their make up for our school programs and their dates - and of course, I always enjoyed it. Now that I know I can live and grow old with just doing make up (after all my challenging yet unglamorous art department experience) - I'm giving myself a great go for this endeavor. Since I am a stubborn dreamy goat (Capricorn here!), I will allow myself to be challenged just how Julie manages to keep herself moving and being inspired by Julia Child. I love that movie. :)

Here's the plan: Every week, I'll schedule a photo shoot for make-up. It'll be a collaborative work with my model, photographer and stylist (ako na rin ata to) regarding Concept and Art Direction. I will give my self a year for this. Hmmm, around 52-53 looks for a year. Period. I'm swearing by the name of my religion, my beloved parents, brother, high school friends, college friends and industry friends. This is it pusit!

First photo shoot is on Monday with my model/housemate/twin Tinz Diaz and his photographer/painter beau Carlo Gabuco.

Isn't fun to prove to the world that The Best Things In Life Are Free? and that All We Need Is Love?

xoxo ;P

lazy thursday

Our shoot was canceled. Grr, there's no update yet when will it be rescheduled. I kinda feel fine about it, having lost my drive for work two weeks ago, but logistically everything should be better when its done on schedule. So there, more days to waste just for waiting for this shoot to get started. And when its done, I'll buy myself tons of milk and bathe myself with it for a week. Hhmmm, I wish I could be treated like Cleopatra just once in my entire life.

My housemate and I are planning to go out of the country, out of our comfort zone, out from our seemingly chaotic community. Target is next year by the month of February. We're so excited! I hope hope hope that this will push through. Indonesia? Thailand? or Malaysia? Just around Asia since we don't have visa and enough money to shell out. By next week we're gonna start our application letter to IHF Indonesia. :) If we can't get through volunteer work, we'll just try to do backpacking. Couchsurfing!

I missed him when I was driving, when I was eating, and when I was reading earlier this day. I miss the days when I have someone to hug when the world is overwhelming with deadlines and life changing decisions. I miss him most whenever I get to sleep at night. Goodnight... kiss!
